Private Athlete Coaching

Concierge mental and physical performance for professional athletes.

Performance is behavior. Every shift, at-bat, swing and serve is a sequence of observable actions, driven by what is happening in your mind and your body in that moment. Most mental performance work addresses only half of that equation. It works on thoughts and feelings and hopes the behavior follows.

Dr. Alicia Naser, Ph.D., a Doctoral-level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D), works on both halves at once. Her approach is built on applied behavior analysis (ABA), the science of how behavior is learned, maintained and changed, and it is paired with the physiology that drives performance under pressure. The result is a first-of-its-kind model of mental performance and high performance, delivered privately to a small number of professional athletes each season.

Two components, one system

The physical: what you actually do

This is the behavior itself: your routines, your decisions and your execution in the moments that decide games. Using the principles and interventions of applied behavior analysis, Dr. Naser identifies exactly which behaviors separate your best performances from your worst, what triggers them and what keeps them going. Then she builds the conditions that make your best behavior show up on demand.

  • In-game behavior change and coaching strategy for specific situations

  • Pre-performance routines that are built and measured, not guessed at

  • Skill execution under pressure, broken down and rebuilt step by step

  • Preparation, competition and recovery habits that hold up across a long season

The mental: what happens inside

This is the internal side of performance: the thoughts, emotions and self-talk that either sharpen execution or get in its way. The work targets the skills professional athletes ask for most.

  • Rapid emotional recovery after a mistake, so one bad shift does not become three

  • Focus that holds when the stakes rise

  • Confidence built on evidence, not affirmations

  • Self-talk that directs action instead of judging it

  • Composure through slumps, injuries and transitions

The physiology layer

Thoughts and behavior run on a nervous system. A rising heart rate narrows attention. Low heart rate variability (HRV), a marker of how well the nervous system is recovering, signals a body that is under strain before an athlete feels it. A short night of sleep slows reaction time and makes emotional recovery harder. For professional athletes, physiology is often the missing variable in mental performance work.

Dr. Naser brings physiological data such as heart rate, heart rate variability and sleep into both the assessment and the plan. You see how your body responds under pressure, you track how those responses change as the work progresses, and you train the link between physiology, self-talk and execution directly. Mental performance stops being something you describe and becomes something you can measure.

Proprietary methods, built for professional sport

Dr. Naser has developed proprietary frameworks, rooted in applied behavior analysis, that have not been applied to professional sport in this way before. They draw on more than 12 years of advanced study, research and applied work, including training at Johns Hopkins Medicine, and on years of work with athletes across the NHL, MLB, NBA, NFL, PGA, ATP and Premier League.

Every engagement begins with an individualized assessment. There is no standard program. Your plan is built around your sport, your position, your career stage and your data.
